Artificial Hearts

Genius.
This class I am taking for artificial Heart Surgery is the best thing I have ever signed up for!
I have learned so much, and it has opened my eyes to see how lucky I am to have such an amazing heart. To hear these stories of people with insufficient hearts just makes me so sad! I am so happy that I was blessed with my heart that beats perfectly. I am AMAZED at how far our technology has come. We have created an organ!! insanity.
We got to listen to the most amazing story of someone who got an artificial heart, his story brought me and Kener to tears! I have the highest hopes for him to get a real heart (:
I'm so excited to witness a real heart surgery! I am ecstatic!

This christmas season really snuck up on me!
I didn't even get the excited, crazy feeling on christmas eve!
I have grown up way too fast.
Remember christmas eve when you were a kid?
Wanting to go to bed early so that santa could come earlier and earlier...
Waking up in the middle of the night being nervous to look around the room,
because santa "knows when you are sleeping, he knows when your awake."
And then waking up every ten minutes before seven o'clock because thats when your parents said they would get up.
And then racing downstairs to see if santa really did eat the cookies.
did he leave any crumbs?
is there a mark on the milk glass from his lips?
looking for EVERY clue.
staring at every present under the tree... trying to see which ones are for you!
Your parents trying to hold you back from opening them all at once!
studying the handwriting on the presents to see if it really was santa's!
how did he know that you wanted that camera? that specific one?
How did santa get the same one from the store, with the  name brand sticker on it.
Does santa shop there too??
Then thinking about what he is doing right now, probably taking a nap... he has been up all night!
Who takes naps on christmas?
santa does.


This year....
I stayed up way late organizing my room...
trying to get rid of junk that i never use or wear...
i stayed up way past my bedtime.
Santa would have been pretty upset.
I didn't fall asleep until at least three o'clock in the morning..
I was feeling sick..
not really in the christmas spirit.
I was dreading my brothers knock on the door to wake me up at seven A.M.
but before i knew it..
knock knock on my door.
Dad has the camera in our face.
I just woke up, do i want to be on camera? of course not.
What do i want to do before anything else?
eat.
I want my breakfast. bahhh humbug.
how have i changed so fast?
getting old is no fun.
I wanna be the one waking up my big brother to go downstairs and open my new toys.
that phase is over and out!

Got to hear from Elder Sampson today! He loves the mish.
too bad skype didn't work, or i would have taken pictures..
but nooo.
But it was good enough to hear his voice! and his stories!
missionaries are fun!!

ear ache

I have had an ear ache for a few weeks now, and it is slowly killing me.

I've always had wierd problems with my ears, but my doctor just told me to chew gum to keep my jaw moving and it would help... problem? I kind of hate gum. I can never find one I like. And I hate chewing chewing chewing!! makes my jaw sore. I've tried it and still have the same problem..

anyways, back to my ear ache. Lately I have had a ear ache and I dont know how to get rid of it.. i looked up some at home remedies... and i found...

1. chew gum as chewing gum usually clears the ear canal which may be clogged due to a variety of reasons

2. use a warm compress by holding it against the affected ear

3. Garlic, ginger or onion can be prepared as a poultice. Just pound the garlic, ginger or onion until juice is extracted, make a paste out of it, warm a little, put in a soft cloth and use this on the affected ear

4. Olive oil is applied like mineral oil wherein a little is warmed and dropped into the ears.

5.hydrogen peroxide

6. mouthwash

 7.tiger balm or the teething gel, just put a drop or two on a cotton ball and put the cotton ball in the affected ear.

8. add vitamin C rich food to your diet

I wanna know who in the world came up with some of these ideas!!
